Large Painting of Plains Indian Chief by Douglas Allan Fales (1929-2024)

This is a large framed oil painting on canvas of a dignified and reserved older Indian in native dress with two eagle feathers in his hair. The image is haunting and depicts a contemplative and melancholy individual reflecting back on his life and the changes he has gone through.  It is a very absorbing painting. Fales has painted a background of mildly troubled clouds that supports the image of the Indian. It is signed in the lower right "Douglas Allan Fales 69".  Fales is a Canadian artist.
