1900's Plateau Woman's Beaded Leggings

$ 395.00

These are attractive, interesting old leggings. They are beaded on hide rather than the more common canvas. The design is composed of two fanciful floral figures, similar to the central floral figure in a number of Plateau contour beaded bags, on a blue field within a diagonal yellow and maroon border. The blue field is interesting. The woman who made these has beaded a wide blue band along the top and bottom and a different lighter more greenish blue in the middle. These were worn. The red trade cloth edging along the bottom of the leggings is ragged on one legging and pretty much gone on the other. It had nickel plated buttons along the bottom but all but two are gone. Even considering the used condition of these beaded leggings, they are still visually interesting and are worthy of owning.
