Margot de Taxco Silver Pin

An elegant and stylish sterling silver pin signed "Margot de Taxco, #5297 with the first eagle stamp with "16" which will date the pin from 1948 to 1955.  Margot (Margot van Voorheis Carr) was an important designer of silver jewelry in Taxco, Mexico beginning in the late 1930's.  She opened her shop in Taxco in1948 under the name "Margot de Taxco" which continued into the mid 1970's.
