Small Santa Clara Bowl With Deep Lines by Sally Tafoya

$ 275.00

This is an unusual piece of Santa Clara pottery by Sally Tafoya, who started actively making pottery around 1980. The jar has a number of narrow deep cuts around the jar extending from the rim to the base. The jar is highly polished and she has painted a narrow black matte line on each side of each cut from the rim to the base which helps to accentuate the deep cuts. The cuts give the jar an organic aspect as if the segments could peel outward and make a flower. This is a piece which you will always enjoy looking at.
