Hopi Jar by Helen Naha "Featherwoman" (1922-1993)

$ 625.00

This is a classic Hopi pottery jar by Helen Naha. The design is repeated four times on a white background. The jar is in excellent condition without any cracks or chips. A good piece to add to your collection.

Award winning Helen Naha, known for signing her pottery with a feather design, learned her craft from Paqua Naha, her mother-in-law, the first Frog Woman. Developing her own aesthetic over the years, she has set herself apart using predominantly white clay slip in her work, developing her own imagery and composition inspired by pottery fragments found at the Atwatovi ruins of Hopi 1st Mesa, using bee-weed and natural clay slips.
