Inuit Carved Walrus Ivory Flying Sea Bird on Pedestal

This is an unusual piece. It is a large sea bird in flight, mounted on a round ivory shaft which is set at an angle in a rectangular soapstone base. The bird is nicely carved and is looking downward.
