Lower Klamath River Lidded Tobacco Container

This ia an unusually tall lidded tobacco container with a strong overall design of rows of stacked parallelograms going up and to the right, woven in a deep red woodwardia fern and balck maidenhair fern. The lid has a thread spool-shaped knob and an open cross warp section to hold the lid on the body of the basket. The top of the basket ends with an open cross warp section and finishes with a beargrass wrap over two stacked rods. There are some breaks in the rods and two in the lid. This is still a very impressive and handsome basket.
