Women's Plateau Basketry Hat (Fez)

This is good looking hat with an unusual design. This is woven with dyed and natural cornhusk. The design pattern is composed of two horizontal bands of large downward facing triangles rather than the large "V" design more commonly seen. The weave is small and even. It has two long cords of trade beads hanging down from the crest of the hat and a hide binding along the rim. This hat is in excellent condition and will be a good and unusual addition to a collection of hats or Plateau basketry.
