Fully Imbricated Plateau "Klickitat" Basket

$ 3,500.00

This is a fully-imbricated Plateau huckleberry berry basket which are generically called "Klickitat" baskets although they were also made by the Yakima and Warm Springs tribes. This basket was not made by a Klickitat basket maker. I think it was woven by a woman at Warm Springs. It was collected in the Madras area, which is the town closest to Warm Springs.  The basket has an overall pattern of large "V's". The imbrication is even and the design is very effective. The basket was used but is in excellent condition, a good large basket for a collector.
