Pateau Cornhusk Bag with Eight Point Stars
This is a fine old Plateau cornhusk bag with a design on one face of two rows of eight pointed stars and small black outlined yellow crosses. This bag is likely to be from the Nez Perce. Although other Plateau tribes used the eight pointed star to some extent, the Nez Perce used it a lot in their beaded bags and cornhusk bags. The cornhusk weaving on this bag is unusually fine. Because of its size and design, this would be a great bag to hang on the wall.
