Tlingit Open Weave Basket

This is a very attractive basket. It has an open weave center between two wide and colorful bands of false embroidery in black and red on a natural gold field of bear grass. The basket is finely and evenly woven with no damage. It had a handle at one time but it was clipped off at the rim a long time ago.
