Scrimshawed Walrus Ivory Tusk Easel

What a great piece! The easel is composed of two walrus Ivory tusks with scrimshaw figures on them which are made rigid by two metal braces. Attached to the upper brace is an 8 ½" long rounded walrus ivory foot in a metal collar which allows the foot to extend back or fold flat for storage. Scrimshawed on one tusk is a polar bear head and a salmon, and on the other is a brown bear head and a whale. On the front of each tusk is ¾" round walrus ivory peg to support whatever rests on the easel. Whether the easel is being used to showcase artwork or is sitting out by itself, it is a great object.
