Vera Cruz Pre-Columbian Head

A late classic Vera Cruz head, Remojada Culture, with applied asphalt on the eyes, mouth, nostrils and applied parts of the headdress.   Much of the "fringe" along the base of his headdress is missing as well as some asphalt at the top of the headdress and the sides of the headdress which would have extended beyond the head.  This is a good and visual example of Vera Cruz ceramic art.  (The stand is not part of the offering.)
