Puget Sound Partially Imbricated Basket

This is a handsome well-made Puget Sound basket in excellent condition. It is possibly a Suquamish basket, but if not, it is likely from the south Puget Sound area. The design is a stylized fish net pattern which covers most of the basket. The basket has a soft earthy palette of light yellow, soft red, and light brown. It has a braided rim and an interesting band beneath the rim of a single twist of bear grass alternating between the light yellow of the natural fiber and the soft red of the dyed fiber. I think this will be a pleasing addition to any collection or as a single piece on a table or shelf.
