Pair of Inuit Carved Ivory Owls on Baleen Hanging Backings

These are really unusual. The owls are well carved with scrimshawed patterns on their heads. The background panels are pear shaped and curve gently out at the bottom. The black panels behind the white cream colored walrus ivory create a dynamic contrast. The panels are signed on the back "B Oozevaseuk Gambell Alaska. There is a 3/4" crack in the panel of the left facing bird. These art pieces would be stunning on a wall.
