Tsimshian Painted Basket

This is a fabulous piece of art. Look at the painting! So carefully drawn and painted. The black form lines outline the figures with ovoids and "U" forms in red with turquoise blue filling in spaces. The figures are an eagle on the left and a killer whale on the right. The basket is twined cedar bark. It at one time had a lid, but that was long since separated from this basket. There were two horizontal splits in the basket which have been restored.
