Northern California Basket

This is a handsome older basket, well woven with a classic Northern California design. The design is built around three diagonal bands of four dark mahogany colored parallelograms intersected by three narrow lines joining them together. Just below the rim is an equally dark mahogany saw tooth band going around the basket. The basket has about a two inch horizontal split below the rim which has been stabilized with four warps exposed. That being said, it is still a compelling basket with a wonderful design and the look and feel of an older basket
