Quinault Lidded Basket

This is a nice example of a Quinault lidded basket woven in wrapped twining, which makes it look very similar to a Makah basket. This is one of the weaving techniques used by the Quinault in making their baskets. This basket has a pleasing design of a horizontal row of red flowers with long green stems with leaves, and a single floating duck. The lid has three narrow red bands on it and a knob. The lid is somewhat "dented" on top which could be brought up by steaming.
