Marie and Julian Globular Jar with Feather Design
This is a beautiful, unusual example of the black on black pottery which Maria and her husband Julian made together until his death in 1943. It is globular in shape which is a much less common shape for their pottery and is decorated with the feather design which is also uncommon in their work together. The feathers in the decorated band on this jar are narrow, close together and carefully executed. The jar is in excellent condition. It is signed "Marie and Julian" on the bottom.
