Makah Basket With Whales and Butterflies

This is an unusual Makah basket with clear designs with no fading of the color on the body of the basket. Unlike most Makah baskets, it is tall and narrow. It has two bands of design. The band below the rim has two butterflies and the band near the base has two large whales. The basket is in excellent condition without any breaks, however the design on the lid has faded. This will be a wonderful piece to own because of the designs and the tall narrow shape.
