Mixed Media Drawing of Plateau Woman by Roger Cooke (1941-2012)
$ 650.00
This is an exquisite image of a Plateau woman in full dress, obviously dancing. She is wearing the traditional "fez"shaped hat, a beaded buckskin dress with fringe along the bottom edge, a long fringed shawl and moccasins with leggings. She has long hair with beaded hair ties.There is movement in the fringe on her dress and the fringe of the shawl. Her right leg is slightly lifted. A beautiful and animated image with fine detail. The drawing is executed in colored pencils and pastels on paper. It is tastefully matted and titled "Lana". Roger Cooke was an Oregon artist who did a number of oil painting and mixed media drawing of Plateau and other western Indians. This is a great image.
