Klamath Basket with Quill Design

This is a fairly large twined Klamath basket in the shape of their woman's hats but it seems to large to be a hat. It has a design of three large serrated "V's" with a broad band of natural colored quillwork woven through the center of the "V's". An unusual element about this basket is that the weaver wove strands of natural tan colored wool yarn along the inside edge of the rim. The only flaw in this basket is a nail hole near the start where an early collector probably nailed this to his or her wall. A good strong example of Klamath woven baskets.
