Helen Shupla Redware Melon Jar

This is a large and beautiful Santa Clara redware jar by the influential potter, Helen Shupla (1928-1985). It is a delight to see how light and images  are broken up as they are reflected on the rounded ribbed surface of this flawless jar. It is signed on the bottom in pencil "Helen Shupla, Santa Clara Pueblo".
