Fossilized Walrus Ivory Bag Handle
This bag handle is slightly curved with the body tapering out from the center to the two ends. It has a central shallow groove in the center with a fine grid pattern a little more than ½" on each side of the groove which covers the upper ¾ of the handle. The ends have a band of parallel lines around the handle and a narrow band of three lines in midway on each side. The lines are worn from use on the underside of the piece. It is a wonderful 19th C artifact.
