Excavated Inuit Walrus Ivory Carved Bird
This is an ancient ivory carving of a sitting bird. The ivory now is fossilized to a rich golden brown. I am not sure how the carving was intended to be used. It is not the usual shape of a gaming bird with a flat base. This may have been carved as an amulet to bring success in hunting birds, but I don't know. It is a well carved ancient bird figure.
