Colorful Nootka Lidded Basket

This is a fairly modern Nootka basket with good design elements and strong  colors.  The body of the basket has a large dark blue whale like creature with a yellow hooked like element in its body and a number of red small diamond shaped projections across its back and on the other side a canoe with four men in blue with red hats,  The top has a knob with a red six point star around it.  It was purchased in Victoria, B.C. in the 1970's.
