Canadian Inuit Soapstone Walrus
A simple stone carving which imparts the essence of the walrus with a minimum of detail. The soapstone is a light grey-green. The carver's name is Akeeyeasloak. He was from Arctic Bay on Baffin Island. It was purchased in 1969 and has a customs declaration from that purchase, a copy of which will be furnished with the walrus.
