Large Plateau Cornhusk bag with Two 8 Point Stars

$ 950.00

This is a large cornhusk bag with a strong visual design on the front side. It has two large 8 pointed stars with 6 small crosses arranged along the outside edges. The stars are woven with green arms and a large yellow rectangle in their centers with an open-centered purple diamond in the center. The arms are outlined in red. The designs on both side are woven with colored wool yarns.  An usual element for this bag is that both the warp and weft of the bag are in native materials.  By the early 20th century, almost all of the bags used cotton string for the warps and often for both the warp and weft. This bag is in excellent condition with no moth damage or fading issues.
