Blackfoot Beaded Pipebag c.1880

This is an exceptional early Blackfoot pipe bag. The tiny seed bead design is a checkered "X" on a blue and gold background. Its beaded edge is a band of red corno beads, a little larger than on the body of the design and similar sized white beads edge up the side of the rest of the bag. The "ears" at the top have a edging in the corno beads as well. The leather is dark and irregularly colored and the thin fringe is a darker reddish brown. This is a bag that looks its age and will be good example of earlier Blackfoot beadwork.
