Fully Beaded Red Plains Moccasins

$ 750.00

These are a pair of flashy red and white men's fully beaded moccasins from the Plains.  They have forked tongues, which extend more than half way down the front. The tongues on both moccasins were sewn on but one does not match the rest of the hide used to make the moccasin. It may have been a later replacement. These moccasins were used as evidenced by the soles of the moccasins and the red ochre stain around the ankle. They are sinew sewn.  The soles are well worn and about an inch of the sinew attaching the back of the sole of the left moccasin has worn away from the heel of the moccasin which has caused a narrow separation of the sole and heel.
