Plains Beaded Lizard Fetish

The top of this fetish is done in what has been called "salt & pepper" beading which is the use of randomly sorted mixed beads rather than solid colors of beads creating the design.  This style is seen somewhat commonly from about 1890 to 1910 and then much less frequently in later years.  Most of the beading is sinew sewn but thread was used on the head.  The cones are on cotton string.
