Aleut Victorian Garden Basket with Handle

This is a very finely woven basket with designs in various colors of silk embroidery thread. It is in the shape of a Victorian garden basket with a flared rim and wrapped handle. It has three primary bands of flowers in false embroidery separated by bands of open twining. The basket hasn't any tears, stains or other physical damage but the basket was awkwardly stored for years causing the lower section to be elongated rather than round.
