Native American Tom Cod Hook With Long Sinew Line
This is a simple hook. The body is made from cedar that is slightly curved with an elevated end and is flat on the barb side. A sharpened bone or ivory point is secured with wrapping of some native vegetal fiber on the elevated end as the barb. It is angled out from the cedar body. Attached at the other end is a 26 ½" twisted line composed of two sinew cords. This is a relatively rare and interesting fishing artifact from the Northwest.
