A kylix, or special ceremonial vessel to guzzle wine, made of terracotta, and being discovered in Italy and also being redware indicates that it may be Etruscan in origin. The Etruscans were influenced by the Greek colonies and from 630-540 BC created many kylixes. Kylixes often had figures from mythology depicted, this one has the swan, the favored bird of the Olympians, and of ladies named Leda.
