Fine Black Pueblo Pottery Bowl by Elmer Red Star (1937-2018)

$ 495.00

This is a low, highly polished black jar with delicate designs in sgraffito by Elmer Red Star, a Lakota Sioux artist, who learned to make pottery from his Santa Clara wife, Harriet Tafoya. There are four round panels around the body of the jar with a quail in each, bordered by feathers and a feather design around the top of the jar. This is a wonderful piece of ceramic art and will be a pleasure to own.
