Eskimo Carved Cigar Holder with Gaurd Dog

This playful example of a cigar holder feature a petite guard dog to watch over the smoker's fine cigar. The Eskimo carver who made this piece took a practical item that would typically prevent staining of one's fingers as well as nasty side smoke from getting into the one eyes, and made it a conversation piece. The holder and mouthpiece are smoothly finished. The color of the holder not only helps to show its age, but also that it was  used.

This would be a fantastic addition to a vintage tobacciana collection as this type of holder has become harder to find.
