Dramatic Plateau Cornhusk Bag

This is a beautiful Plateau cornhusk bag with strong colorful designs on both sides. The designs are all woven with wool yarns and none of the colors have faded. The designs on both faces are composed of three horizontal design elements built around diamonds and triangles of various colors and complexity. The bag was expertly woven with fine even lines. This exceptional bag is in excellent condition. Although cornhusk bags are often referred to as Nez Perce bags, all of the Plateau tribes did cornhusk bags and it is almost impossible to identify from which tribe a bag has come from.
