Northwest Large Cedar Bark Basket

This is a large and very attractive cedar bark basket in excellent condition. It has two wide bands around the body. The top band has alternating vertical single stitch wide rectangles and the bottom band has a fishbone pattern. This is the kind of basket that doesn't normally survive in this condition, except in museum collections. I can't tell whether it was woven in Western Washington or Vancouver Island, but it is a wonderful basket. If you like and appreciate ethnic basketry from the Northwest, then you should seriously consider this basket.
