"Buffalo, Buffalo..." Oil Painting by Paul Dyck (1917-2006)
$ 875.00
This is wonderful painting of a buffalo head in a shield like form. The colors are rich and the painting is beautifully rendered. He painted in egg tempera with oil glazes. He grew up among Plains Indians, living with the Sioux at one time, and devoted himself to the study of the culture and history of the Plains Indians. He actively collected rare and important objects of the Plains Indians and his collection is displayed in an area of the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody, Wyoming. The painting is on board and is signed and dated 1983 and titled "Buffalo, Buffalo..." (As an aside, he is descendant of the Flemish painter, Sir Anthony Van Dyck.)
