Garnet Pavatea Hopi Bird Bowl
This is a well sculptured bowl in the shape of a bird with fluted tail and winglike designs painted along the outer edge and a birdlike body painted on the inside of the bowl. Given that this piece was made in the late 1960's or early 1970's, it may have been intended to be an ashtray, but if so, it was never used for that purpose. It is signed on the bottom Garnet Pavatea. It is a wonderful piece of art.
