Ancient Peruvian Stone Llama Canopa

This is a carved black stone Llama or Alpaca figure from Peru. It has a rounded body with a large hole in the middle to fill with offerings and intended to bury in the earth as a talisman to promote fertility. It is in excellent condition and shows great age and wear. An interesting piece to own and have out on display.
