Large and Beautiful Canadian Salish Basket

If you are only going to own one Canadian Salish basket, this clearly would be a great choice. It has size, a compelling design and a unique form. The design is composed of five horizontal bands of large downward facing mahogany triangles staggered to make a diamond pattern which cover the whole basket. The lid is flat with a braided rim and a one inch hole in the middle and the design of mahogany colored triangles continue on the lid. The basket is in great shape without breaks. There is minor loss of imbrication scattered here and there, commensurate with its age. This basket has great visual appeal.
