Maidu Figural Basket

This is an unusual Maidu basket with a single female figure in a full length dress with puffy sleeves.  She has an unusually small head.  All of the design elements are in red bud. It has a plain rolled rim but is of a material I don't recognize. The basket is structurally sound but has insect damage on the inside which is noticeable when the basket is held up to the light. The price reflects this.
