Plateau Beaded Child's Fez

This is an unusual Plateau hat. The design on most Plateau fez style hats is built around large "V's" which extend from the top to the rim. The designs on this hat are on two horizontal bands and the designs on each band are unique to that band. The beading is not done over a hat but rather tied on to a cloth form. The hat is very colorful with different colored beads used in the various designs on the two bands against a white bead field. The hat has bead loss along the rim at the top. Otherwise, the beadwork on the hat is in excellent condition. Plateau beaded hats are not common and being a child's hat, this hat is even more unusual. This is a good piece for a collector of Plateau baskets and beadwork to own.
