Tsimshian "ALASKA" Basket with Fluted Rim

This is a wonderful basket. It has an organic shape, reminiscent of flower buds, or seed heads, with its undulating top. A very Victorian shape. It has "Alaska" woven across the body in very large ornate letters. It really makes a statement. And it is in excellent shape.
