Plains Blanket Strip on Red Trade Cloth Blanket

This is a beautiful Plains Indian blanket strip which has been sewn onto a red wool trade cloth blanket. The strip has four round medallions, each of which has three beaded drops with blue and dark green tube beads, ending in a small hawk bell. The beadwork is sinew sewn. The beaded spacers between the rondels have a design of a small rectangle with a diamond at each end which is repeated 7 times. The background is red and blue with metal beads inside the red areas. This is a handsome piece and will make a great wall hanging to display the beadwork.
