Large Hubble Period Navajo Rug

This is a beautiful example of the rugs Lorenzo Hubble produced at Ganada in the late 19th Century that incorporated blanket designs within a border.  This rug has a rich warm red background with a design of three large diamonds with a cross in the center of each.  The warp and weft are all handspun wool and the colors are red, black and white.   An unusual added element borrowed from oriental rugs is the use of small white and black horizontal rectangles scattered across the red background. This 120 year old textile is in great condition and will be visual delight for whoever owns it.
