Large Aleut Lidded Basket

This is a large and delicate Aleut basket with designs in red, black, and white fine wool yarn on the lid and body of the basket, with a knob on the lid also in the same three colors. The basket is woven in open twining with a uniform space between wefts which exposes the warps.  The basket is wonderful condition with neither breaks nor repairs to the body.  A great basket!
