Large Old Beaded Plateau Vest

This vest was made for a big man. The front panels are edged with red cotton. These were attached to a much older and worn hide back. This hide back has sewn onto it older beadwork from the 1890's, which was cut out from a blue wool back of an old vest. The beads on the back are the early cut beads used on the Plateau in the fourth quarter of the 19th century. This is a good looking vest with some interesting historical quirks.
