Aleut Lidded Basket by Arlene Skinner

This is a beautiful Aleut basket by the accomplished basket maker, Arlene Skinner, from Kodiak. It has beautiful designs around the body in false embroidery using red, blue and black silk embroidery thread and red edging on the rim and knob on the lid.  Ms. Skinner is a well recognized basketry artist from the Kodiak area.
